Worn wheel/rail interfaces can result in truck
hunting, producing large lateral forces that can
damage the rail; especially at high speeds.
The IEM Truck Performance Monitor (TPM)
consists of a series of strain gauge sensors
that are placed along the track to measure
lateral and vertical forces during curved
sections of track. The TPM combines
measurement parameters and processes
data on-site to provide exact, detailed
information regarding the steering
capacity of a wheelset through the
curve. The TPM will identify suboptimal
suspension systems using customizable.
