Human beings cannot be beat for on-the-instant observation and response… but they cannot maintain a peak of alertness and readiness for long periods. Twenty minutes watching screens leads to a drastic decrease in the ability of a person to notice and respond to anomalous events.
IEM has great experience in intelligent video analysis, that in essence allows a video system to perform much of the work of surveillance on its own – detecting movement, recognizing groups or individuals, recording unique identifiers, and tracking individuals, groups, or vehicles. They can also recognize when a target enters forbidden locations, when they fail to present specific passes to security locations, and so on. IEM has demonstrated this capability with visual and near-infrared imagers, as well as thermal infrared cameras, providing safety and security in a single package.
