Advanced Vibration Detection: IEM’s Ride Quality Analysis System (RQAS) utilizes a series of
custom-designed redundant triaxial accelerometers, force
sensors, and environmental sensors to measure vibrations in the
rail environment.
Highly Accurate Analysis:Traditionally, monitoring ride quality has been difficult because
of the multitude of factors involved; IEM’s system collects
larger and more complex data to provide accurate ride
quality analysis.
On-board Software & Computing:IEM custom embedded software compares the signal
acceleration strength against pre-defined safety
parameters to detect abnormal conditions.
Detects Truck Hunting:Excessive vertical acceleration may indicate profile
issues, while excessive lateral acceleration may
indicate alignment or geometry defects related to
trucks/bogies.
