IEM’s low speed Flat Spot Detection System is ruggedized, simple to maintain, and easily installed. It finds wheel faults before they become bigger problems. As each train car passes over a series of 12 tread plates, FSDS measures the circumference of each wheel and reports any detected flat spots or out of round wheels directly to the rail yard reporting system.
