IEM has marketed our modular WISE™ Wheel Inspection System Environment since 2006. This system, which can be configured for either low- or high-speed rail operations, allows comprehensive collection of data required for making intelligent decisions regarding car wheel measurements, truck dynamics, brake condition, and much more.
WISE™ wheel inspection automates regular and accurate wheel measurements and, inspects every single wheel on every car. Unlike spotty manual wheel measurements data, WISE™ will not only inspect every wheel on every transit car, but also will see the same cars and wheels again and again, building a database of measurements that can be used for developing trends that promote cost effective condition based maintenance activities.
IEM currently offers WISE™ in two general configurations for freight rail operations.
