Security, safety, and reconnaissance/surveillance applications all often have a need to see beyond a single narrow field of view. IEM has considerable experience in the selection, design, and development of panoramic imaging systems. This includes wide-field imaging ranging from full hemispherical (or even, for space applications, spherical coverage) to standard 360-degree panoramas to wide fields of view covering some section of the full circle (for instance, a 180-degree field of view covering everything in front of a wall-mounted camera.
IEM has devised unique patented panoramic imaging systems as well as making use of the finest in wide-field imaging technologies already available. These have included low-cost surveillance imaging systems, an agile mirror approach for targeting applications, and patented and patent-pending panoramic imaging solutions for challenging aerospace and military applications. Some specific case studies illustrate IEM’s understanding and expertise in this area.
