NASA selects IEM to develop wireless rotorcraft torque measurements system.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has awarded a Phase I proof of concept contract to International Electronic Machines Corporation (IEM) for development of an Adaptive Rotorcraft Condition and Usage Tracking System. This system will merge two core IEM technologies including our patented Dynamic Generation method for measurement of torque on a rotating shaft and our advanced Smart Adaptable Wireless Sensor technologies.
IEM has also brought a major rotorcraft manufacturer to this effort and has initiated discussions regarding possible transition from laboratory and test stand settings to installation on a variety of military and commercial helicopters.
